SUBJECT:
110 Volt Power Cord

ISSUE DATE:
May, 2004
The purpose of this bulletin is to inform dealers of a potential problem with the 110 volt power cord on 2004 Timberlake models equipped with an optional furnace.

We have had reports from the field that the potential exists for the 110 volt power cord to hang in front of the exterior heater vent and melt the protective sheathing. Because of the tight floor plan in this model, the power cord is stored directly above the furnace. When the trailer is set-up for operation, the 110 volt power cord is pulled from the cable hatch which is located directly above the exterior heater vent. Depending how the 110 volt power cord is routed, it is possible for it to hang directly in front of the exterior heater vent and melt the protective sheathing. To correct this potential problem, we are recommending the installation of a stainless steel clip next to the exterior heater vent so that the 110 volt power cord can be stowed to the side of the exterior heater vent. We are also recommending a caution decal be placed on the exterior, roadside body panel to remind retail customers to use the new clip.

We have enclosed a computer listing of all the 2004 Timberlake models shipped to your dealership with factory installed furnaces. We have also included the retail customer information if our records show that the trailer has been sold. Because this is not an official safety recall, we will not be contacting retail customers concerning this bulletin.

Please order the appropriate number of installation kits (P/N 4755-7501) for your dealership. A flat rate of .25 hours will be allowed to install the parts. Please use Trouble Code E04 491 when filing warranty claims.
