SUBJECT:
Water leaks at front
ABS cap and TPO
roof seam

ISSUE DATE:
January 16, 2003

The purpose of this bulletin is to inform all Fleetwood Caravan dealers of a potential water leak at the front roof cap and TPO roof seam.

It has been determined that the bead of silicone caulk that currently seals the seam does not stick well to the TPO material and can allow water to enter. If water enters the seam, it could eventually show water damage to the inside luan roof panels. Caravans produced after July 29, 2002 were sealed with self leveling roof caulk and have shown no signs of leakage. Self leveling roof caulk is available from our Parts Department in 11 ounce tubes by ordering part number 4761-0508. We strongly recommend that all Caravans produced prior to July 29, 2002 have the bead of silicone caulk removed and a generous bead of self leveling roof caulk be applied over the seam. We also recommend that only the Alpha Systems, Inc., #1016, self leveling caulk be used on the TPO roof material. A flat rate of one hour will be allowed to make the repair. Please use Trouble Code 491 RF1 when filing warranty claims.

Please direct any questions to the Technical Service Department at 800/532-2317.
