| 1. |
Remove the small lower galley
door (and hinges) covering the 8 3/8" wide by 11 1/4" high
routed furnace opening in the lower galley front. Reinsert the hinge
screws in the exposed holes and tighten until flush with the lower
galley front. |
| 2. |
Remove the wall paneling knock-out centered
directly behind the furnace opening on the lower galley front. |
| 3. |
Cut the vent opening in the body panel according
to the dimensions in figure 1. |
| 4. |
Install the 3 ½" wooden heater
support with two self-tapping screws. |
| 5. |
Drill a 1" hole for furnace
gas line by using the white plastic pin as a locator mark. |
| 6. |
Connect the plugged end of the power supply
wires (black, orange, white) found in the lower galley compartment
to the heater wire harness supplied in kit. Pull the non-plugged end
of the wire harness out through the lower galley front opening. |
| |
NOTE: Once the two wire harnesses
are connected, check to ensure proper color coding, black to black,
orange to orange, etc. |
| 7. |
Clamp the furnace power supply wires by
the right side of the heater box with two plastic clamps and two self-tapping
screws provided. |
| 8. |
Slide furnace into opening
except for approximately 6" for wire connections. |
| 9. |
Connect wires found in compartment to furnace
with the three quick connectors (1216-208) as follows:
a. Orange - white wire on furnace marked "thermostat"
b. White (-12 VDC) - black wire on furnace
c. Black (+12 VDC) - red wire on furnace |
| 10. |
Slide excess wires back into furnace compartment. |
| 11. |
Slide furnace into compartment until flange
of furnace contacts furnace galley front. Make certain furnace aligns
with vent opening. |
| 12. |
Secure furnace to the wooden
galley front with two screws, one on each side of the furnace. |
| 13. |
Apply putty tape to perimeter of vent sleeve flange that contacts
the body panel once installed and slide into rear of furnace casing.
Apply putty tape to top and sides of rear exterior vent assembly
that seals against the vent sleeve. Slide exhaust tube into rear
of furnace and fasten vent sleeve and vent to panel with two self-tapping
screws provided. See figure 2.
|
| |
IMPORTANT: A minimum overlay of ½"
must be maintained between vent sleeve and furnace casing for proper
air exchange. |
| 14. |
Use the back of the thermostat plastic base
as a template and mark the seat panel as shown in figure 3. Cut out
this opening with a jigsaw or other suitable cutting tool. |
| |
NOTE: The appropriate seat bench
will have the black and orange thermostat wires rolled up and marked
inside the compartment. |
| 15. |
Locate the color-coded thermostat wire harness.
The wire harness will consist of one orange and one black with flanged
spade terminals. Place the plastic grommet provided through the center
hole in the metal U-shaped thermostat bracket. Route the spade terminals
through the metal U-shaped bracket and then through the hole cut in
step 14. Continue to route the wires through the center hole in the
thermostat plastic base and attach the wires to the thermostat: black
wire to the fused side of the thermostat (thin copper wire); orange
wire to the heat anticipator side of the thermostat. Attach the plastic
base to the U-bracket and bench panel with the two short rivets provided.
Attach the thermostat to the plastic base with the two long rivets
and two flat washers provided. See figure 3. Connect the male plastic
plug end of the thermostat wire harness to the female plastic plug
end on the remaining thermostat compartment wires. |
| |
NOTE: Once the two wire
harnesses are connected, check to ensure proper color coding, black
to black, orange to orange, etc. |
| 16. |
Secure thermostat wires to floor with the two remaining plastic
clamps and two self-tapping screws.
|
| 17. |
Cut existing gas line on trailer directly
below heater gas line hole. Put on two flare nuts and flare gas line.
Install 3/8" tee. Fasten gas line to trailer frame using two
black clamps and two self-tapping screws. Attach gas line to heater,
route through floor, and attach to 3/8" tee. |
| 18. |
Check all gas connections for leaks. Apply
pressure to gas supply line and test all connections for possible
leaks using a soap solution. |

Never use a match or open flame to check for leaks
as fire or explosion could result. |
|
|
|
| 19. |
Install inside furnace cover. |
| 20. |
Refer to furnace operating manual for lighting
instructions. |

Never use sealant tape on flare connections as gas
leaks may result and fire or explosion could occur. |
|
|
|
| NOTE: After furnace installation is complete,
test fire the furnace and allow it to operate for one complete cycle.
This operation will insure the furnace is functioning properly and
will burn off any unwanted residue inside the furnace. |
