SUBJECT:
Underside Clean-Up
of New Folding Trailers and Travel Trailers Delivered
to Dealerships

ISSUE DATE:
January 9, 2002
The purpose of this bulletin is to inform all dealers about important information pertaining to all Coleman folding trailers and Caravans.

Dealers are strongly encouraged to clean all newly delivered trailers immediately upon receipt; this recommendation includes the chassis and undercarriage. Pay particular attention to the wheel wells, LP lines and connections, chassis components, and suspension parts.

Multiple states are now using calcium chloride, magnesium chloride, and sodium chloride as de-icing compounds for their highways. Road debris and chlorides tend to accumulate under the trailers during the delivery and if left on for prolonged periods, can be corrosive to metals and finishes. Unless removed, these newer chemicals can start to deteriorate the appearance of the product. By thoroughly cleaning immediately, the short and long-term effects of corrosion can be significantly reduced.

This bulletin is supplied for information purposes only and is not an authorization for reimbursement.

Please direct any questions to the Technical Service Department at 1-800-841-3605.
"It is impossible to know, evaluate, and advise the service trade of all conceivable ways in which service might be done or of the possible hazardous consequences of each way. Accordingly, anyone who uses a service procedure or tool must first assure that neither personal safety nor vehicle safety will be jeopardized by the selected service methods."
